In 1988, HEARTGARD was launched in Australia to provide heartworm prevention with the convenience of monthly administration. Dogs love the real beef treat and really look forward to it.
Heartworm disease remains highly prevalent in Australia. There are several reasons for the persistence of heartworm. Not all dogs in a population are treated with a heartworm preventative. Therefore, un-medicated dogs can act as a reservoir for the disease in the community. In addition, the disease can also maintain itself within a community cycling through a wide variety of native animals ranging from seals to bandicoots.
Chewable tablets for use in dogs where both heartworm prevention and monthly treatment for control of ascarids and hookworm is necessary.
